A Unique Venue
This 15th century grade II listed building has been beautifully restored and retains a wealth or original features. This splendid house is believed to have been a gift from HRH Queen Elizabeth I to the Earl of Leicester. The sympathetic restoration has provided beautiful hotel accommodation in the main house along with a cosy bar filled with character. The award winning Restaurant Tommy Heaney at The Great House serves regularly changing menus focused on local seasonal ingredients in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
So many of the original features dating back to the early 15th century remain in the house and the coach house which provides accommodation overlooking the garden.
You will be sure to receive a warm welcome from our friendly and knowledgeable team whether you are staying with us or joining us for a drink or a meal.
Each season is unique
Spring breathes new life into the garden while Summer invites you to take drinks or afternoon tea on the patio, Autumn and Winter entice you to sit by the fire and enjoy a cocktail or two.
Whatever your reason for visiting South Wales whether it for the natural beauty, business, golf, stunning walks or just a well-earned break, the Great House is the perfect place for residents and non-residents alike to relax and be taken care of.
