Swansea Christmas Market

Swansea’s Christmas market offers a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere with a strong focus on local Welsh makers. 

Wooden stalls line the main shopping streets with crafts, gifts and treats, including fresh Welsh cakes and hearty seasonal dishes. 

The city’s marina and evening lights help make Swansea feel especially inviting at this time of year. The market runs from 29th November-22nd December.

Getting there by train: Swansea station is around a ten-minute walk from the centre, and trains run frequently from Cardiff, Carmarthen and London.

Aberglasney Winter Fair (Carmarthenshire)

The Aberglasney Winter Fair is one of Carmarthenshire’s most atmospheric Christmas markets in Wales. It’s set across the garden’s glasshouses, corridors and historic courtyard offering a lovely ambience.

Visitors can browse stalls filled with handmade crafts, local produce and thoughtful gifts, all while enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the winter gardens. 

Seasonal food and drink vendors are dotted throughout the grounds, making it an enjoyable place to wander at your own pace. 

The 2025 fair will take place from December 5th-7th.

Getting there by train: Llandeilo is the nearest station, with buses and taxis available for the short onward journey to the gardens.

Beaumaris Victorian Christmas Weekend (Anglesey)

Beaumaris brings history to life each year with its Victorian Christmas Weekend, held in the streets surrounding the town’s castle and waterfront. 

Visitors can expect period costumes, traditional stalls and entertainment that reflects the town’s heritage. The event has a warm, community-led feeling, with performances, makers and food producers creating a lively festive atmosphere. 

The 2025 weekend is planned for November 30th-December 1st.

Getting there by train: The closest major station is Bangor, with frequent buses connecting directly to Beaumaris.

Conwy Winterfest

Conwy Winterfest transforms the medieval town centre into a vibrant evening celebration, complete with a torchlit parade, costumed performers and street entertainment. 

The event blends Conwy’s historic character with a lively festive spirit, drawing crowds who come to enjoy the music, stalls and castle backdrop. 

Winterfest this year will take place from 6th-23rd December.

Getting there by train: Conwy station is only a short walk from the town walls, making it an easy and atmospheric arrival for the event.
